Yes, I realize that is a bit of a strange name for a website, but there is a reason for choosing Day Spa Marietta as the particular name for a website.

You see, when someone in Marietta, GA wants to go to a day spa, for a massage, body wrap or other spa treatments, there is a pretty good chance that you would go to Google and search the words: spas or more specifically, Day Spa Marietta… or possibly Marietta Day Spa in order to find the most desirable dayspa! Great day spas are available in Marietta, if you know what to look for prior to going.

And, I wanted you to find my website because unlike other sites that may pop up, I do not own my own day spa.

I’m actually an experience and unbiased consumer who has been to a number of day spas and spa resorts.  I’ve had both positive and negative experiences at day spas.  Therefore, I was compelled to create Day Spa Marietta to help you.

And, it was kind of my civic duty to do so!

 One word of warning. You cannot rely on the Better Business Bureau to confirm the reputation of a day spa or for any company.  Most people are not aware that the Better Business Bureau is not an official governing body like their name implies.  In fact, the BBB is paid by the businesses they represent! Can you believe this? I would say this is quite a conflict of interest.  So beware of the BBB as a resource.  

 One of the most important items to confirm is if the day spa is licensed and insured.  By Georgia law, each spa should be licensed by the state.  Licensed dayspas have been checked out by the state to ensure that they have all the proper equipment and associated products necessary to operate a day spa with your health and safety in mind. Also, all day spa employees should have an up-to-date state-issued license.  For example, if you were to get injured during a laser hair removal or burn during a chemical peel or one of the natural products causes a reaction to your skin, does the spa have proper insurance to cover the injury should you file a claim? As you will read further on this site, going to the day spa is more than just beauty treatments. By the way, the same insurance and license requirements apply for beauty and hair salons too.

Spa Etiquette

Spa etiquette, the Do’s and Don’t list everyone should have

Some have a fearless attitude about everything in life, while others are not so confident about first time experiences. There is a first time for everything, and that includes going to the spa.

Here are a few of the do’s and don’ts before experiencing a spa day.

* Arrive 30 minutes early for the treatment. First, you don’t want to be late and panicked. Second, you don’t want to    lose any of your valuable treatment time. Typically the therapist will not be able to extend a treatment that was started late, as there may be another treatment following yours.

* In hotel spas you will usually be given a spa robe and sandals along with a locker. It is not advised that you leave valuables in the locker, but secure them at home or in the hotel room. It is not typically recommended that you wear undergarments in treatments, but you may do so if you are uncomfortable taking them off. Therapists are trained in draping and will therefore keep you covered at all times.

* There are cancellation policies. Make sure you are aware of them to avoid being charged cancellation fees.

* If you are pregnant, it is advised that you inform the spa. Some spas will not perform treatments on mothers in their first trimester, others have no policy regarding pregnancy. Check with the spa before booking appointments.

* Avoid alcohol before, during and after treatments. Many therapies will move toxins through the body and cause a sick feeling is alcohol is involved.

* Do not show up to a spa expecting to walk in.

* Check the age restrictions of treatments. Certain companies require a patron to be at least 16 years of age for treatments.

* Silence cell phones and do not talk on them in the relaxation area.

* Remove jewelry before going to the spa. If you must remove jewelry once in the treatment room, it only cuts into  your treatment time.

* If going in for a facial, remove heavy makeup beforehand.

* If you are not sure if gratuity is included… ask. Therapists work hard to give you the ultimate experience.

Most day spas also offer massages. Massages are another service that usually comes in many different varieties. It is important to know what kinds your day spa offers so that you may choose the one that is best suited for your own needs and desires. Most spas will offer different massages ranging from traditional, deep tissue, and even hot stone massages. They will also have massages that will vary by the type of oils used for the massage. If you are not sure which massage to choose, you should consult your spa and they can walk you through the different options.

Facials are another popular spa service. A facial can be relaxing; however, it can also be somewhat of a painful experience as well. A facial can have long lasting impacts on the healthier of your skin. Keeping your pores open and clean will lead to a better completion. People who get facials often have skin clear of blemishes. These are the most popular services offered by most every day spa that you will get in contact with.
